• To be a powerseller, I think you just need to be consistent on achieving good points for all the aspects in detailed seller ratings. In the case on the company I am working for right now which is e_cell, we started updating our ebay shop, create good product descriptions, abrupt customer service, and organised inventory.

@Cori - to get back to answering your question, aside from buyer confidence when they see you are a power seller (even though we are not allowed to say we are anymore), the discounts are significant and it is our first priority to keep those fee discounts to keep our pricing more competitive.
How? Clear and concise listings. Great pictures and as many pics as necessary. Great customer service, which includes getting back to customers in a timely manner. Quick shipping. And, excellent quality products, presented well, and packed securely.

I've also found that throwing in a freebie does result in repeat customer business along with great feedback. In my case I inherit a large stack of banknotes that where saved from the burn barrels by my dad at the end of WWII. They are from the Philippines and still make great book markers for those that still enjoy reading an actual book.

CPP, PHR • It helps to know what you are selling. Especially if you are selling collectibles or antiques. Why are they collectible, from what era are they? How old? What makes that particular item special? These are what the buyer wants to know. I agree also with good pictures...good listings, secure packageing and great customer service.

There's a lot of hard work to do initially and then as it has already been said, you need to have great listings, photo's, do your research properly and have a sense of humour. A personal service works really well with customers too. Oh I nearly forgot, try not to think that everyone who says their item hasn't been received is trying to get something for nothing because in many cases there are so many factors to an item being mislaid.I do think that almost everyone is honest. Calmly work through all possibilities and offer a mutually satisfactory outcome.Merry Christmas to you all and Here's Wishing You Every Success in 2012
