WHAT I CANNOT TRAVEL WITHOUT... EVEN THOUGH I KNOW IT WOULD NOT BE THE END OF THE WORLD

One of my must haves when traveling is my camera. I feel lost without one. I have had a few different cameras, but my go to camera especially when I am on one of my crazy adventure trips such as caving in waist-high water in Belize or trekking glaciers in Patagonia I have found that having a water-proof, freeze proof, and drop proof camera is huge!!

I have this camera.

Fujifilm FinePix XP50 Digital Camera (Blue)

I think this camera looks pretty interesting because it has GPS capabilities

Nikon COOLPIX AW100 16 MP CMOS Waterproof Digital Camera with GPS and Full HD 1080p Video (Orange)

Also it has saved me money because before the travel tour company could only take the photos under the waterfalls because your camera would be ruined then you have to decide how badly do I want this touristy photo. With this camera you can take your own for free.

FAVORITE PLACE I HAVE LIVED

I have lived and visited so many beautiful places I am truly blessed. One of my favorite places I have lived is in Byron Bay, which is located North of Sydney in Australia. Imagine waking up to this view every morrning!!

Where is your favorite place?

NOT FOUND ON EXPEDIA

Travel deal sites such as Expedia.com, Orbitz.com and Hotwire.com are great ways to find travel deals: cheaper flights, better pricing on hotels, car rentals, cruises and activities. These sites can bundled the different options for even better deals. They do a lot of grunt work for you with just a few clicks of a button. These sites are Acting like modern day travel agents, and putting many travel agents out of business. Kayak.com goes one step further and compares these travel deal sites against each other!!

When I am traveling I often go to kayak.com and check pricing for flights and then if I need say a hotel also, book a hotel with them. It is great to learn about the different hotels. I can get photos and reviews on multiple hotels in my destination of interest in just a few clicks of my mouse. What these sites do not tell you is that not every airline or hotel chooses to affiliate with these third party aggregators. It is a personal company choice so although these sites have some definite pros to what value they can add to your travel buying experience these sites may not always have the best pricing. Southwest airlines for example does not want to be affiliated with any of these party aggregators. It costs money to be part of their sites and they can control the variables and environment better on their own website. Delta and American Airlines have removed their flight from several 3rd party websites also.
So just like these websites are doing a lot of the legwork for you know that knowledge can be power and you may be able to find a cheaper flight directly from the airline’s or hotel’s website exclusively.

WHAT TO WEAR IN THE AIR

Great idea to make traveling easier and more comfortable. Wear a cotton scarf on the plane that doubles as a cozy blanket. You will save space in the travel bag and be cozy and not have to use the airplane blankets. This stylish idea can go straight from the terminal to dinner at the Ritz.

SELLING ONLINE IS EASIER THAN EVER!!!

The internet has done wonders for how the small and large businesses do get their products out in front of their customers before there were limited ways for people to see your products. Now because of the internet has opened up the doors for even the stay at home mom that makes specially beaded necklace to get her unique designs in front of the public.
The first and most traditional way artists, designers and collectors would sell their products with a website. This is a great to exclusively showcase your items, but can be limited to you being able to drive traffic to your site, being able to build a website and being able to afford a webmaster if you cannot design a site yourself. Having a website a great way to showcase your product, but there are easier ways to promote your product. Just because you build it does not mean they will come.

Etsy is an e-commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items as well as art and craft supplies. These items cover a wide range including art, photography, clothing, jewelry, food, bath and beauty products, quilts, knick-knacks, and toys. Many individuals also sell craft supplies such as beads, wire, and jewelry-making tools. All vintage items must be at least 20 years old. The site follows in the tradition of open craft fairs, giving sellers personal storefronts where they list their goods for a fee of $0.20. Etsy is a great way for people who are not savy with web design to have an online store front. Etsy is a great community of buyer and sellers that want to support each other.

eBay.com is an online auction and shopping website in which people and businesses buy and sell a broad variety of goods and services worldwide. Founded in 1995, eBay is one of the notable success stories of the dot-com bubble; it is now a multi-billion dollar business with operations localized in over thirty countries.

Google changed the name of its Local Business Center to Google Places to underscore its tighter integration with Place Pages. You can post contact information, hours, photos, video clips and coupons. Business owners can use Place Pages to get customer feedback and communicate with patrons, and a personalized dashboard collects data including how many times people have found your firm on Google and what keywords they used to sniff it out called Google Analytics.

A new one…Art meets commerce head-on at Big Cartel, an online platform that enables up-and-coming bands, fashion designers, jewelers, record labels and other creative types to launch their own customizable web storefronts.Big Cartel now boasts more than 125,000 registered stores in all, each tailored to the seller's unique business needs and distinct artistic vision.

There are a lot more options out there and it is to pick the ones that work for your products and designs. These are just a few, but a good few.

NEVER LEAVE YOUR PASSPORT!

Never leave your passport in your room while traveling. Even if you think the room is secure or on a three story do not assume leaving your passport is safe.

When I was in Cabo, Mexico the kids in the room next to mine were able to jump onto my balcony. This was a five star resort. That said always check the windows are locked when you check into a room.
Keep your passport on you or if the hotel safe. Better in the safe!

ALWAYS HAVE CASH!!!!

I would when we are traveling in other countries we want to leave the country with as little as foreign currency as possible. This is not a good idea! First always bring and keep US dollars in a pinch you often use US dollars in other countries. Why I say this is important is that you might have an unexpected cost going to or at the airport and your debt card is not accepted in that country (or simply does not work). Scary!!
I know from experience! When I was traveling in Fuji my first overseas trip ever! (I will blame it on being young this time ) I am leaving the airport and fine out there is an airport tax to fly out of the airport. I cannot leave the airport if I do not pay this fee. I had 10 dollars of foreign money to my name. Not enough! My debt card does not work! Yikes! I am now going to be stuck in this small middle of now where country with no money and no ticket out of there! I do get lucky a trekker Irishmen does not want to see me fret over this small tax he pays the tax in full. Not asking for a thing in return! I beg for his address to send him the money, which he finally gave it to me.
Long story short keep cash, debt card and credit card with you! Never only one type of card because some places do not accept certain cards. Or better yet you cannot read the ATM screen to understand what the screen is asking.
Travel is getting easier. I suggest doing as much research you can before traveling.
HAPPY TRAVELS!!!!
